Connect MCP clients

Connect any client that supports remote MCP servers to GoodMetrics.

Claude and ChatGPT have their own step-by-step guides. For any other client that supports remote MCP servers and OAuth sign-in, use the instructions below. The labels differ from app to app but the steps are the same.

  1. Open your client’s settings for apps, connectors, integrations, or MCP servers.

  2. Add a new remote MCP server named GoodMetrics.

  3. Enter this URL in the field labeled Server URL, MCP server URL, or URL:

    https://data.goodmetrics.io/mcp
  4. If the client asks for a transport, choose HTTP or Streamable HTTP.

  5. If it asks for an authentication method, choose OAuth. Leave API key and OAuth client fields empty.

  6. Choose Connect or Authorize.

  7. Sign in to GoodMetrics, review the read-only access request, and choose Allow Access.

  8. Back in your client, enable GoodMetrics for the conversation.

Your client handles sign-in and access automatically — there’s nothing else to set up.

With GoodMetrics connected, ask a real question — replace example.com with one of your domains:

Compare example.com last month to the month before and summarize what changed.
Which referrers drove visitors to example.com who actually signed up — not just traffic?
