How trials, plans, and usage work

GoodMetrics automatically adjusts your plan based on your traffic and event volume, so you’re always on the plan that fits your usage.

Here’s what to expect during your trial and how your plan adjusts over time.

Your trial period

When you sign up for GoodMetrics, you’ll start with a 30-day free trial. During this period, you can track pageviews and events without limits or charges.

At the end of the trial, your plan is automatically set based on your actual usage during those 30 days.
For example, if your site records 75,000 pageviews during the trial, you’ll start on the 100,000 pageview plan (our first tier).

Your first charge will occur the day after your trial ends. You can view current plans and pricing here.

What happens when you exceed your plan limit

If you exceed your current plan’s limit within a billing cycle, you’ll automatically move up to the next plan tier.

We don’t charge anything immediately when this happens. Instead, your plan upgrade takes effect at the start of your next billing cycle.

Example:
If you’re on the 100,000 pageview plan and exceed that limit partway through the month, you’ll be upgraded to the next plan. You’ll then be charged for the new plan at the start of your next billing cycle.

Automatic downgrades for lower usage

If your usage drops below your current plan’s limit, GoodMetrics automatically adjusts your plan down at the end of the billing cycle.

Example:
If you’re on the 250,000 pageview plan (our second tier) but only use 75,000 pageviews during the month, your next billing cycle will automatically move you back to the 100,000 pageview plan.

Checking your current usage

You can view your current plan and monthly usage in the Billing section of your dashboard. This helps you see how close you are to your plan limit before an automatic upgrade occurs.
