Tracking 404 errors

You can track when visitors land on broken or missing pages by firing a custom event on your 404 page. This helps you identify broken links and fix them before they impact your visitors.

How it works

Add the following to your 404 page template, after your GoodMetrics tracking script:

gmTrackEvent('404');
</script>

The event will appear in your GoodMetrics dashboard each time a visitor hits a page that doesn't exist, making it easy to spot and fix broken links across your site.
